Storyline

Man’s World, the inaugural series from Y-Films, explores a thought-provoking scenario: what if women interacted with men as men typically do with women? This narrative invites us to step into their perspective, imagining life in such a world. What if women treated men the way men treat women? It’s a journey of empathy, encouraging us to walk a mile in their shoes.

I recently checked out Y Films’ series, Man’s World. It consists of just four episodes and addresses some relevant issues in today’s India. The show highlights the ego problem many men have, often viewing themselves as superior to women. This theme inspired the creators to develop the series.

The main character, feeling frustrated by the favoritism he experiences at his corporate job, wishes that God would flip the world upside down so he could be treated like women, receiving promotions and raises before anyone else. God grants his wish, and when he wakes up the next day, he finds men doing traditionally female jobs and vice versa. That’s where the real adventure begins!

The series lacks depth in its approach. It attempts to show that men shouldn’t view women as weaker or inferior, as their roles are equally demanding, but it does so in a rather clumsy manner, leaving viewers hoping this will be the final season. It’s great to see various Bollywood stars and well-known personalities making cameo appearances, which adds a nice touch and shows the creators’ enthusiasm.

However, the intended message doesn’t resonate as strongly as it could. While there are a few genuinely funny moments, the series overall feels like one that can be easily overlooked.
